ShewasbomApri111, 1919 at Racy, Ritehie County, the daughter of the late Flavious Bruce and Emma C. Nutter Kerns. She attended Cairo High School and previously worked at the former Cairo Marble Factory, Myles Manufacturing, Harrisville, Pine View Continuous Care, and North Bend State Park. She was a past president of the PTA at the former • Cairo School and helped with Cairo Little League. She was a member of Ten Mile Church of Christ. She is survived by one son, Flavious O. Haynes and his wife Donna of Lake Floyd; sister-in-law, Lorraine Kerns of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Donald Haynes and his wife Crystal of St. Augustine, FL, Steven Haynes and his wife Brandi- lyn of Salem, and Jason Haynes and his wife Jessica of Lake Floyd; great- grandchildren, Austin, Zach and Chase Haynes of St. Augustine and Brandon and Halley Haynes of Salem; 17 nieces and nephews; and many great---nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval C. Haynes; daughter, Katherine L. Haynes; brothers, Delbert, Hobart, Oval and Merlin ' Kerns; and sisters, Mildred Layfield, Arlene Barrett, Eula Kerns, Margaret Kerns and Mabel Kerns. : Funeral services will be held at 2 .m. Reed, 68, of Chillicothe, OH, died July 17, 2011, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Feb. 11, 1943, in Wheeling Township, OH, to the late Otha and Evelyn Smith Reed. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Roadway Express. Surviving are children, Evelyn Reed of Chillicothe, Billy J. Reed and his wife Susan of Halliard, OH, and Timothy E. Reed and his wife Billie of Chillicothe; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur Snyder and his wife Linda of Barberton, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Franklin Smith officiating. Family and friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial will follow in Smith Run Cemetery in Richie County. Margaret L. Corm Davis Margaret Louise Corra Davis, 80, of Pennsboro, passed away July 17, 2011, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport surrounded by her family She was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Pennsboro, a daughter of the late Abraham Corra and Fahada Farris Corra. She graduated from Pennsboro High in 1949 and was the Homecoming Queen and Valedictorian of her class. She graduated from the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Parkersburg in 1952. She was one of the original members of the Pennsboro Country Roads Festival Committee and served for several years. She was also a member of the Pennsboro Improvement Committee, Pennsboro Citizens Association and a devout Catholic and member of the Christ our Hope Catholic Church in Harrisville. She was a former co-owner of Davis Glassware and Gift Shop in Permsboro. Surviving are her six sons, Steve Davis and his wife Pat, Rick Davis, Mike Davis and his wife Debbie, John Davis and his wife Mindy, Mark Davis and his wife Regina and Joe Davis and his wife Kelly, all of the Pennsboro area; grandchildren, Bryan, Nikki, Josh, Isiah, Jeremy, Amanda, Andrea, Andrew, Ashley, Brittny and Santana; great- grandchildren, Madison, Payton, Xavier, Jonas, Jaelyn, Silas, Elizabeth and Aubrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Davis, in 2007; brothers, James and Peter Corra; sisters, Mary Pratt and Lt. Helen Corra; and an infant brother and sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Christ Our Hope Catholic Church in Harrisville with the Very Rev. Anthony Cincinnati officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Pennsboro. Ruth Imogene Walls R u t h Imogene Spurlock Walls, 83, of Auburn and formerly of Craneco, WV, died July 14, 2011, at her home after an extended illness. She was hem March 3, 1928, at Toney Fork, WV, the daughter of the late Rev. Brooks and Stella Adkins Spurlock. She was a homemaker who loved to fish and treasured the times she spent camping and fishing with her children and grandchildren on the banks of the New River. She is survived by seven children, Dreams (Elder Chester) Osborne and Vivian Walls, all of Auburn, Stella Browning of Clendenin, WV, Beverly Grimmett and her husband Earnest and Eddie Walls and his wife Beverly, all of Craneco, Shelia Maxwell and her husband the Roy. Robert of Amherstdale, WV, and Deborah White and her husband Carlis of Greenwood; a daughter-in- law, Cyndy Walls of Massillon, OH; 25 grandchildren; 46 great- grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Claude Walls; one son, Shelly Walls; one granddaughter, Nora Jean Browning; and one son-in-law, Jack Browning. Brookover Linda Kay Brookover, 61, of Pennsboro, died July 12, 2011, at her residence. She was born Oct. 13, 1949 at Joseph's Mills, the daughter of the late Clate and Gwalia Keys Dawson. She had worked in the West Union, Pennsboro and Harrisville garment factories and currently at Simonton Windows, Pennsboro as a line worker. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Brookover; daughters, Regina Dawn Dawson of Pennsboro, and Jody Dianne Gathers and her husband Barry of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Brookelynn Brookover, Myah Gethers and Trent Gathers; brothers, Roy Dawson of Tyler City and Gary Dawson and Ronnie Dawson, both of Joseph's Mills; and sister, Kathy Griff'm of Shirley. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Gary Dean Dawson. Funeral services were Saturday, at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Permsboro, with Pastor Kelly Martin officiating. Burial followed in Spring Hill Cemetery at Joseph's Mills. Clara Olive Kerns Clara Olive Kerns, 92 Murphytown, died July 13, 2011, at Camden-Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, Parkersburg. She was born at Mill Creek, WV, Nov. 17, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Robert Raymond and Lena Marie Shrove Smith. She was a member of Murphytown United Methodist Church, and she had worked for Murphytown Elementary School, Westvaco ano(H&R Block. Survivors include her two sons, Eldon Kerns of Vienna and James Kerns and his wife Dianna of Murphytown; a daughter, Barbara Ireland and her husband Dan of Marietta; a brother, Raymond Smith and a sister, Edith Mason both of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Angela Sue Charonis and her husband David, Julia Linville, Lori Jane (Dennis Elliott) Carder; and four great-grandchildren, Troy Gilbert, Felcia Linville, Nicholas Linville and Abby Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Eugene Kerns; three brothers; and one sister. Deem, 85, of Harrisville, passed away July 10, 201 l, at Camden-Clark Hospital, St. Joseph's Campus, Parkersburg. He was born Jan. 31, 1926, in Harrisviile, the son of the late F. S. "Dick" and Lila M. Matheny Deem. He went into the U. S. Army his senior year at Harrisville High School. He rweci w.il tile 100 'h Infantry Division in the Rhineland, and Central European Campaigns and was a German Prisoner of War. After his discharge, he worked in the oil and gas business until 1970 when he became a member of Local 565 of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Parkersburg. He worked construction until his retirement in 1991. He was a 50 year member and past master of Harrisville Lodge 98 AF&AM, and Scottish Rite of Parkersburg. He was also a member of Harrisville Baptist Church. He is survived by his brother J. Frank Deem and his wife Becky of Vienna; a son, Gene Deem and his wife Barbara of Pennsboro; daughters, Lila Hart of St. Marys, and Spring Deem ofYuma, AZ; stepdaughter, Kitty Ray and her husband Robbie of Harrisville; grandchildren, John Deem and his wife Emily, James Deem and his wife Tina, Jacob Deem :,:nd his wife Andrea, Niles Hart (KeUi Ervin), Stacy Moody and her husband Josh, Angel Webber and her husband Raymond, and Gary Denning II; and 11 great-grandchildren. Vide Mae Florence Willlamson Vida Mae Florence Williamson, 76, of south Parkersburg, passed away July 10, 2011, at her residence. She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late Ted and Oleta Lodge Hamilton. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and was a homemaker. She had previously worked at Commerce Bank in Harrisville. She enjoyed puzzles, game shows and activities at church and at the Unity Plaza. She is survived by one son, Rob Florence of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Breanna and R.J. Florence of Cairo; and close family friend, Sandra Graham. In addition to her parents, she was receded in death by her first usband, Don Watts; her second husband, Robert Florence; her third husband, William E. Williamson; and her daughter, Debra Watts.
